Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar (225 km - 05 hr)
Today we drive to Haridwar, on the banks of holy river Ganga (Ganges) & located at the foothills of the lower Himalayan Range of the Shivalik Mountains. Haridwar literally meaning Gateway to God is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus.
We visit Mansa Devi temple, which is situated at the top of Bilwa Parwat (hill). The rope-way with its brightly colored cable car takes devotees to this hilltop temple. Later we witness spectacular view of Aarti (collective prayer ceremony)at Har Ki Pauri. This sacred Ghat (stepped holy river bank for bathing), was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother. This sacred bathing ghat is also known as Brahmakund. There is activity all around & we observe various rituals performed on the Ghat.

Day 02: Haridwar – Rishikesh (25 km - 01 hr)
Today we drive to Rishikesh, located in the lap of lower Himalayas. It is surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills on two sides & Laxman Jhula, Rishikeshbisected by the holy river Ganga. Rishikesh is the gateway & the starting point for journeys to important religious places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri & Yamunotri. It is also claimed as the Yoga Capital of the world.
We visit Laxman Jhula, suspension Iron Bridge, built in the year 1929. This is where Rama's brother Laxman is said to have crossed the river by jute ropes. One can enjoy the spectacular surroundings & the cool breeze while standing on the bridge. Ram Jhula, another suspension bridge close to Laxman Jhula was later built between Shivanand & Swarg Ashram. Later we visit Geeta Bhavan, situated just across Laxman Jhula & famous for its attractive paintings & statues from the Hindu mythology.

Day 03: Haridwar - Delhi (225 km - 05 hr)
Today we drive to Delhi, upon arrival Transfer to Airport for onward Destination.
